Sree Narayana Guru Samiti, Pune had a humble beginning in July 1991. Over the years it has achieved substantial progress, established and carved out an identity for itself in Pune. It endeavours an ideology of inclusiveness of all sections of the Society.
At the beginning of 2005, some dedicated Samiti Members, devotees and well-wishers, led by the then Managing Committee conceived the idea and decided to erect a temporary structure in Gurudeva Kshetram premises. The team worked very hard and with active support from all members and well- wishers, completed the shed which was inaugurated by Brahmashree Satchidananda Swamiji on 30 th May 2006 and named it “Mahakavi Kumaranasan Memorial Hall”, in memory of the great Mahakavi of Kerala, who was one of the most revered guide and philosophers of Sree Narayana Gurudeva Prasthanam.
Time passed by, Samiti membership and Area Units increased and Members collectively dreamt of a decent Community Hall with essential amenities and facilities there. With the blessings of ever benevolent Gurudev the Samiti’s dream project is now in progress and expected to be inaugurated in a few months. The Committee is happy to give below an aerial view of the Hall for an “idea” of the under-construction hall which would accommodate approximately 500 plus participants and expected to cost in the range of Rupees 75 to 80 lakhs when finished.
