28 th January 2018 will be marked as a red-letter day in
SNGS history. It was on this day that thousands of members and well-
wishers got together at the Hindustan Antibiotic Grounds, Pimpri for
the Silver Jubilee celebrations. Preparations for the event began in
right earnest six months earlier with the formation of the Silver Jubilee
Celebrations Committee headed by Mr KP Kumar given as below:
Padmashree & Brahmashri Vishudhananda Swamikal, President Sree Narayana Dharmasanghom Trust, Sivagiri, Shri Gokulam Gopalan, Chairman Gokulam Group of Companies, Shri Amar Sable, Hon. M.P. Rajya Sabha and Mr Suresh Gopi, Hon M.P. Rajya Sabha graced the occasion with their presence. Chief Minister Devandra Fadnavis could not make it to the function at the last minute but deputed his Officer on Special Duty (OSD) Shri Shrikant Bharatiya to represent him at the event.
It started with a soulful rendering of Daiva Dashakam by the Ladies Wing. Shri Gulab Gopinath, President SNGS delivered the keynote address and welcome the guests, Members and well-wishers. Shri CP Raju, General Secretary spoke about the various activities of SNGS and its journey over the past 25 years.
To mark the occasion, a Silver Jubilee Souvenir was released at the hands of Brahmashree Vishudhananda Swami, President Sivgiri Matom, Varkala. The Souvenir Committee was headed by Shri CS Balachandran.
Another important feature of the Silver Jubilee was the institution of three Ratna Awards, first being Seva Ratna was awarded for outstanding humanitarian services to Dr Sindhutai Sapkal, Mr M.D. Sreenivasan, Chairman and Managing Director, Sheeba Group of Companies was honoured with the Pravasi Ratna Award for excellence in Enterpreneurship and the third award being Guru Ratna was awarded to Mr TV Raghunandanan, ex-General Secretary of the Samiti for outstanding contribution to the Samiti. The Award Committee was headed by Mr K.C. Sucheendran.
The Silver Jubilee celebrations concluded with a mega entertainment show by Red Ideaz “Tharolsavam” with famous artistes like Vidhu Pratap, Praseeta Chalakudi, Singer Nihaz, comedy king Pashanam Shaji and well known South Indian actress Shamna Kazim was attended by over 4000 participants. The artistes electrified the audience with their sterling performance. It was indeed an evening which the Samiti and the Punites will cherish for a long time to come.
